Collier Street

Collier Street is embraced by the River Teise and Lesser Teise and has a population of just over 500. It was once a thriving Fruit and Hop farming community 90% of which has disappeared. There are some reminders of days gone by such as Brook Orchard in Green Lane with its 90yr old Bramley trees, which look magnificent.

At the heart of our community you will find St Margaret’s Church. The lantern above the gate is a memorial to all those local men who gave their lives in the World Wars.

Take a walk down Haviker Street where you will find a protected wildflower verge. or try a pint in The White Hart at the southern end of the village where you will always get a warm welcome.

From there you can walk the footpath around Bockingfold farm which runs close to the River Teise.

Collier Street is not just a few houses on the B2162, we do have a few hidden treasures. Come and see for yourself.
