Nettlestead on the western edge of the Borough is built mainly on one side
of the B2015. The other side of the road falls away to the Medway along a
particularly attractive stretch.
This area contains the parish church of St Mary the Virgin and Nettlestead
Place, both of which were probably originated by Bishop Odo, half brother to
William the Conqueror.
